The AI Spring Tour is an annual trip organized by the HCS AI Group to bring Harvard undergraduate students to engage with prominent companies working on AI in the Bay Area. This year, 14 students concentrating in fields ranging from computer science and math to government and economics went on the trip and had the chance to meet with researchers, engineers, venture capitalists, and managers at OpenAI, Anthropic, Robust Intelligence, SoftBank, and General Catalyst.
Our trip took place during spring break this year (from March 10 to March 12) and was filled with exciting discussions. We got a first-person glimpse into the fast-paced culture required to drive cutting-edge AI development in industry and discussed a variety of timely topics, including the future of AI, sustainable computing, and the need for interpretable models.
To make the trip as accessible as possible, the HCS AI Group funds the majority of the trip, so the price is heavily subsidized for each attendee. Unfortunately, that means we can only accept a small fraction of applicants.
Applications are closed for this year’s (2024) trip, but will reopen in October for the 2025 iteration!
